5 Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids Aged Under 5

Updated: May 25, 2021

The 5 recommendations of healthy snacks for kids aged under 5 are convenient and nutritious. These include solid yogurt (Yogis drop), puffs, string cheese, freeze dried fruits and Seaweed. They are good for traveling, classroom, birthday party and picnic.

My Standards of Choosing Healthy Snacks:

  1. Not containing too much Sugar or salt

  2. As few food coloring or additives as possible

  3. Good taste

(I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.)

Happy Baby organic puffs is suitable to kids who are older than 6 months. It smells good and with low sugar. Both of my kids have eaten the puffs since they are 6 months old and still love it.

Kids love yogurt. However, when we go out to the park or zoo, it is difficult to keep yogurt cold. Happy Baby organic yogis perfectly solves this problem. It is easy to carry and tasted as good as real yogurt. Again, my kids have eaten the yogurt drops since they are 6 months old and still love it.

3. Organic Valley String Cheese:

This can be bought in a lot of grocery store such as Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc.

Organic cheese string is only available in four brands in my area. I bought all four and Organic Valley tastes best because of its richest cheese flavor.

This is a good and easy substitute of fresh fruits. Sometimes organic fruits are not available and I use this product. I also put freeze-dried fruits in kids' milk as part of breakfast. They love the crunchy fruits better than real fruits and I have to control the amount given to them.

Kids use the seaweed sheets to wrap everything from rice to cheese string, and from crackers to bread, though sometimes weird combitionations.
